It's HOT outside, so this July AUA is teaming up with our friends at Saloon Door Brewing to collect books in support of Books Between Kids which provides under-served children an opportunity to build their own home libraries.

To participate, donate (or collect from your friends and family) new or gently used books for children in Pre-K to 5th grade to help us provide an entire classroom of elementary students with their own home libraries!

We will kick of the event JULY 15th at our July Volunteer Mix & Mingle and donations will be accepted through JULY 31st, 2018.

• Story books • Chapter books • Learn to read books • Children’s non-fiction books • Board/toddler books • Spanish or dual language books (Pre-K through 2nd grade) •

About Books Between Kids: "Over 85%, or more than 90,000, of Houston ISD’s elementary-aged children live at or below the poverty line. For families in these situations, books wind up being low on the priority list. Our vision is to ensure that every Houston child is a book owner. We are certainly on our way to realizing that vision, and hosting a book drive is a great way to help us reach more children with the joy and hope of book ownership!" Learn more at
